Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga/Half Led First Series
Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is a dynamic form of hatha yoga. It is a sequence of postures always practiced in the same order, non-stop. This class is half of the first series of Ashtanga. As a new student to the class working your way in may mean stopping and taking a break and then rejoining the flow. You will work at your own physical level to build strength and endurance, leading to greater flexibility. Modifications and options are always shown for each posture. Ashtanga is not done in an air-conditioned room. But it is not done in a heated room either…unless it is winter, of course.
Ashtanga Vinyasa Basics
This class is a much lighter version of the Saturday class. It is the perfect way to understand the foundation principles of this yoga and begin the process of building strength and endurance. If you are interested in this style of yoga this is a good place to start. But if you are just looking for a yoga class that is a bit more active and challenging than a regular hatha yoga class (but not too much), then this is the class for you. Modifications and options are always shown for each posture.
